As I’m quite ignorant on the matter, what sorts of things would be difficult to do while listed on NASDAQ; what sorts of things are easier now; when did being listed on NASDAQ become a negative?

What strikes me about this forum (including the hardware discussions) is how Apple (and others) are still competing against Apple technology from 2009-2010.
[Herb Sevush] FCPX is often tempting, … I’ll happily wait a few years and see what develops.
CC PPro looks to be the winner of the NLE contest, and I say that with no joy considering my loathing for the whole subscription idea.Agreed on both counts. And disappointed that Lightworks seems to have missed a window.
[Herb Sevush] I still think for ease of transition, and ease in my bank account, I will stay with OSX for now. But when the time comes to actually buy a new box, Windows gets consideration again.
Consider setting up a windows boot partition or drive on your tower – if you’re in CC, you can install both Mac and Windows versions, and bounce between them; it may prove to be a worthwhile experiment that sets in you in a better place to judge hardware and OS down the road. I currently have such an experiment running …

Yes, well the more you look at this, it’s all just guesses.
By my guesses based on Horace’s figures, Apple would have sold one copy of FCPX for every 4 Macs sold in 2013. I’ll leave it up to general speculation as to whether that holds water.

The data is a bit unclear to me but I believe that they’re showing Apple’s .30 take on each 1.00 sale for iTunes. (Could be wrong.) Not sure if that really makes a difference but should be taken for what clarity it offers.
Also you might have to squint a bit at my figures, eg. he reports ProApps up 29% so the figures might be more like 1.3 Billion one year and 1.7 the next.
On rereading his post, it seems clearer that the total for “iTunes, Software, and Services” comes from Apple – and the rest is just his guesses at how that breaks down. So this is all just estimates (and maybe we’re back at square one …)

It’s a guess.
I assumed, FCPX being the most expensive of the Pro Apps after 2011 (and generally the “top grossing” application, according to Apple, whatever that means) that it would generate the lions share of revenue.
Could be wrong.

I see about a dozen options in the 3000-5000 price range from Sony, LG, Toshiba, etc. (As an example, Sony has a 55inch UHDTV for 3000.00 there.)
I have no idea what people typically spend on TVs, but UltraHD seems to be on offering to the general (non-specialized) public.
