Hi Jeff,
How are you? Thanks a lot for your reply!I am working in a project using Dynimic Link with After Effects. All my sequence is Dynimic linked to After effects compositions. I can´t play it in real time. So i need to “render”it.
Well, I understand that for export differents settings of sequences I don´t need to make more than one sequence. I just set the sequence output in the export panel.
Reading the article you have sent, I understand that I dont really need to render the sequence unless it can´t be play in real time. My dynamic linked sequence can´t be play in real time unless I render it. So i will render it.
My doubt now is about the export. Now my timeline is all green. If I export “matching sequence settings”, there is no need to enconde anything, but if i set to export it in a different sequence settings, it will enconde. Am I right? My problem is: i don´t really know the Premiere export workflow. As you said, I am a former FCP user. What I used to do was export in Pro Res HQ and use it as my master and then convert this Pro Res HQ to the diffrents formats the client ask to. Now i am working in a PC and it doenst have Pro Res.
Well is it for now.
Thanks a lot, Jeef!!!
Take care.

Hi Jeef,
Sorry the delay in answer yoy back. Actually I move on to other job in premeiere. Now I have a bunch of files Dynamic Link to After effects. So What do I do? I render the timeline with the files from dynamic link. The rendr takes a long time. More or less an hour to render all the timeline. Then after render it, I export matching the exporting settings with the timeline settings. And it takes the same one hour to export. Why does it happen? If I render the timeline, why the export time is the same of the render time? I spent two hours to render and export a film all dynamic linked with after efftcs. Why does it take so long? And Why the export time is the same of render time?
Thanks a lot!

Thanks, Job ter Bug!
And Shane, hehe. Nice one.
By filter,I mean an effect called “Color Effect”. I ve created a second empty video track and added a Filler with an effect named “Color Effect”. I know it isn’t the right way, but now people see the film and dont crack about the QT going “darker and & with higher contrast”.
Now it going online. I made an AAF of the approved version to Color Grading (without the Filler). I needed the QT to show the cut to the producers

Shane,
So it is better to export a QT using a filter? I ll check it:
“I hear that later versions of Avid…8.0 thru 8.3…have settings you can apply to make them display Rec 709. In the COMPOSER settings, under the VIEWER tab, you can set this to REC 709. And that should get you really close. (Sorry, I just remembered that little tidbit)“.
Cheers,
Fernando

Hello Shane,
Thanks. So I do need to have a Pro Monitor?
How is the best way to export a .mov in Avid? I was doing some tests and did the same thing in final cut pro. The export in final cut pro was better than Avid. I work in both app with the same footage. I know why ddoes it happen?
Cheers,
Fernando

Hello Michael,
Thank you for replying it. I do copy the MFXs files into a Avid MediaFiles/MXF/ folder. And copy the AAF into the same External Hard Drive where all the material (MFXs, Projects, Music, Graphics …) are. Then inside Media Composer I import the AAF into a bin. All time I’ve done that, all the clips are imported, but it comes Offline. I need to relink it. Almost all the time it does relink, but occasionally it doesn’t. And when the clips didn’t relink I’ve asked to the logger to made me another AAF. But it doens’t work. The clips doesn’t relink.
I ll try do this now, Michael:
“If the AAF does not automaticaly relink, then there might be a problem with the AAF – next thing to try is put those files into their own numbered folder, then from a bin, import the mob.msm file (can’t remember which one exactly, I am not in front of a system right now) that is in the folder after you launch MC. Then do the ALE merge as mentioned.”
Michael, can i make an folder for each card in the MediaFiles/MXF/ folder. For exemple:
1 st card call it 1
2 nd card call it 2
3 rd card call it 3and so on. Or it is better to save all in the same folder? I know it has a limit, but i am not reaching this number. And it is causing me nothing, but trouble. Because if I make an separate folder for each AAF tha doesn’t relink I would do it as you said. Am I right?
Cheers Michael,
Fernando
