  • You need to compress in Adobe Media Encoder to mpeg2. There will be DVD presets. You need to burn with the files that creates. Or if you have iDVD go to File > One Step DVD from Movie and choose the movie you exported from AE.

FCP doesn’t handle .m2t files natively. You have to transcode or rewrap. We use ClipWrap

Yeah that’s what we usually do as well. One my coworkers asked me and since I had been wondering about it for a few months on and off thought I’d throw it out here.

    Thanks.

Thanks Bryson. I can see that online is the built in field p5, but I’m not seeing it in the Query Advanced view drop down. How would I query it?

    Hey Robb,

That is what we’re trying to do. I know you can do it in the worker, but didn’t know if there was a query we could run in CatDV.

Yeah, go to Preferences > Field Definitions and in the type column choose Date.

    I think that’s what you’re looking for.

1st step: What format is your original footage?

2nd step: Create a new sequence. Go to sequence > settings and in the bottom left corner click Load Sequence Preset. Choose the preset that matches your source footage. For example if it’s DVCPROHD 1080i60, choose that.

3rd step: Select all your footage in your original timeline and paste it into the new timeline you just created. It will look distorted.

4th step: Double click on one of your clips and in the Viewer click on the Motion tab. Adjust the scale to 100 and in the Distort drop down adjust the Aspect Ratio Slider until your footage looks appropriate.

5th step: Once that clip looks good, right click on it and choose Copy. Select the rest of your clips and choose Paste Attributes. Check the boxes Basic Motion and Distort. The rest of the clips should look good.

Obviously if you have different types of footage in your timeline this process will take more time.

Hmm you might not have to. What’s the problem? The clips all look distorted now?
