Sorry! Misread the post.
Encore is a hunk of poop. I say this after using every authoring tool ever made.
Try Cinemacraft lowend encoder (under 100 dollars) and DVD lab pro (under 300) and lets us hear your thoughts! A slight learning curve but that makes life worthwhile! -
The authoring tool has nothing to do with quality. Its the encoder that is key here. Cinemacraft is what I will always use. You don’t like the quality in Encore? Is that the question?

I’d only send DDP images on DLT or pen drive to the replicator. You;’re basically replicator a bunch of DVD-Rs by sending a disc as a master…not to mention write errors. A DVD-9 is a complete no no if you care about where your layer break must be. Stay with DLT if you plan to replicate in the future.
Trai has a somewhat fatalistic attitude but his article here makes sense. Ive personally seen these same issues and avoid them by delivering DDP images on DLT or HDD only.

Lets not give the OP a bunch of BS…LTO is the most reliable, cost effective Back Up solution there is right now.
DLT is still the most reliable way to deliver DDP images to a replicator. A DVD-R should NEVER be used in a submission. I hate to give Trai Forrester credit since he been banned from the Cow but he’s nailed it with this article.

LTO is, by far, the reliable BU solution.
DLT is the most reliable DVD submission format as well. Hope you dont have a HDD fail or blow a glass master in the near future! 🙂
