Theres a thread a couple down which deals with the same issue. Your stuff is SD…there’s nothing to change that. Blowing it up and it will still be SD – just on a bigger canvas.
A GOOD encode at DVD bitrates vs. up rezzed SD at BD bitrates will look the same. Dont know how to correctly up-rez SD footage? Thing will look worse.

Far superior? Doubtful. 6mb is a fairly high avg bitrate and will accommodate PCM audio if you know what youre doing so the difference in bitrates would be negligible depending on the compressionist and encoder.
Assuming the Operator knows what he’s doing, you could be right on the second example.

Personally I’d hire someone to do the work for you if you feel you aren’t comfortable. You can really screw things up with Cinemcraft. N value is just the amount of frames between I Frames (Inter Frames) in your GOP (Group Of Pictures). M value is the frames between your I Frames and P Frames (Predictor). There is also B Frames(Bi-Directional)
How are you viewing your picture? Through Progressive outputs or interlaced? What kind of monitor?

Thats not true at all. You can get “better compression” all you want with the finest and best encoders and it will still be SD in the end. Its like taking a pint of milk and putting it into a gallon bucket

Blu ray is an HD format. While it does support 720×480, going to BD isn’t going to make your footage look any different. SD is SD.
Was is shot and edited 720 x486?

It’s because of the pullsown flags attached to the mpg file. DVD was invented before there was a thing called progressive video.
Sorry if I offended but to help someone who didnt purchase a piece of software wouldnt be good. Just seems like alot of money to spend unless you do loads of work or dont know the basics of mpg compression for DVD.

Yep…..23.98 and progressive. Pulldown flags are attached to the file and will play progressive or 29.97 depending on the players output -
Yeah…..you burned the disc as a data disc..hence the errors. Your replicator should have known exactly what you did 🙁

You want to deliver DDP Files on a pen drive. Avoid writeable discs for delivery

DVD and the net are like oil and water. There is a feature called access but it is no longer compatible with newer Operating systems. Its always advisable not to use these features.
