There’s no way to hear audio in pI. If you have an AVI with audio as a background, you can export the audio with the final render, but there’s no way to listen to it as you animate emitters.
Your best bet is to whip up a dope sheet where you can mark off the beats in the music piece, and use that to time your animation in pI.

Try this link, it seems to work

I think I’ve had similar results bringing in some AVI footage from Vegas if I didn’t check both “Render alpha channel” and “Create an OpenDML” before rendering (even though pI doesn’t import an alpha channel with an AVI). I don’t know if there are similar settings in AE that you can apply, but it may be worth a look.
Glad you like the emitters 🙂

Are you getting any sort of error message, or is the video simply black or coloured blocks? It could very well be the size (I’ve never tried loading a clip quite that big in) or it could be the codec it’s in (if it’s a DV avi)

Quoted from a previous post
For Text:you need to create an image of your text in a program like Photoshop.
Just make sure it the size of the image is in multiples of 16 – i.e. 128×256, 32×256 (or any variation).
Make the letters white, and the BG black, and save as a Tiff or TGA.
Then in the emitter properties go to the Change shape tab and then import the image (via one of the “Import Image…” buttons).
For more on this, just check out the pIllusion help files: Tutorial 3: “Particle Shapes”
If you’re using a multi-colour logo rather than just simple text, you’ll probably want to save it out of Photoshop with an alpha channel rather than just making it black on white.

It’s possible, it’s really just a question of getting the right footage to use as the particle shapes, a nice 12 or 14 frame walk loop with a number of different people. The tiny basement room I have my greenscreen is in doesn’t allow me to pull the camera back far enough to get an entire person photographed, otherwise I’d give it a try.

What exactly do you mean by the neo look? Do you mean the letters making up the scenery, or something else?

Download the 3.01a update from the downloads page. It’ll allow you to open these files, and load any of the libraries from the past few months.

Do you want particles to move along a sin/cos wave? The only way I can think of doing that would be to animate the Emission Angle so that it follows a wave pattern.
There is a program called Compath that generates sin/cos position data for emitters
