August 20, 2013 at 5:01 pm in reply to: “Clicking” and “Popping” noise from DeckLink SDI AudioHi Gunter, we appreciate the tip.
We are using a SATA II motherboard with USB 2.0….
There isn’t much on the system that we can do away with. Incidentally, we do have LogMeIn (remote desktop management software) installed on this PC. Would it make sense technically if this software was contributing to the issue?
We appreciate all help.
Thanks.

Will this program work for what you gave the first link for?
DPC Latency Checker by Thesycon
…from the device manager in the control panel, our Realtek High-Definition Audio driver version is 6.0.1.5859.
Do you suspect the Realtek controller over the DeckLink or Wirecast?
All tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

July 18, 2013 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Media Composer Crash Upon Render (errcode 2034)Hi Ricky, thanks for the quick reply.
I guess I’m still a little confused because I can and am usually able to export a sequence containing AMA media. I tested…and removed the AvidFX effect from the AMA AVCHD clip and tried to export a segment, and it worked.
Is there something else that I’m missing here?
Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi James, thank you for your reply. It was informative.
Do you have any suggestions concerning how to incorporate the 3D particle array into a 3D scene? Is there any way that you know of to explore a 3D scene in Avid FX that uses that plugin? The functionality of the plugin (and Avid FX/Boris RED itself) is severely diminished if you can only use it by itself.

…thanks to Jon from Boris FX for the help in finding the solution to the pixelated shadow problem….
The main tip was to increase the “[shadow] map resolution” parameter within the 3D container’s shadow tab.
For my video specifically, another tip was to reposition the light (perhaps pulling it farther away from the letters) and increase its intensity because of the odd shadows that the light was casting onto the 3D cube.
Thanks again for the help….

Hello Jon, thank you for your prompt reply.
That video was made with Avid FX running as a standalone application.
I tried turning on “1:2:1 de-flickering” and better quality field rendering. Changing these settings did not appear to better the issue.
Here is the sample project file for the video with the pixelated shadows in it. Sample project file
Any help that I can get concerning this issue is greatly appreciated.

Hello Mark,
Thanks again for that advice. I tried the setup with shorter ethernet cables, and it works. The impedance on that mixer must be high compared to the monitor that I tested it on.
Are there any Cat6 cable brands that you would recommend that allow a stronger signal to pass through…. I’m not sure by how much I can reduce the distance that our cables have to run.
Thanks again.

Hello Mark, thanks for your reply.
I’m pretty sure that our switcher is operating at 1080i-59.94…that is what our output format is set to. I’m of the impression, however, that the mixer auto-detects and adjusts…for the type of signal that is coming into it through the DVI port. Is that true?
The display port on the PC that we’re using is an HDMI display port set at 60Hz and operating at 1920 x 1080 P….
I think the monitor does say…. I will check next time I test it….
Looking over the specifications for this unit ( To double check me….), I still don’t quite understand why this setup wouldn’t work.
I very much appreciate any advice that I can get.
Thanks.
