    Hey Rob,

We use T2D everyday for all Broadcast work, I went T2D as it has clean cut and rock solid conversions, software is not there yet but will be 1 day …

Compressor is in no ways the way to go for 2997 to 25 and I have spent years looking at Episode, Tachyon, Flip Factory, Vantage and Open Source, Software is going to get there but as of today we make money on the T2D hell we have 6 in the UK and 6 in Miami and the guys are in use all the time !

I have a video I did for BMD

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY9AnivZDu8

Please note i do not get paid from BMD, hope this helps ! to answer your question re motion compensation it depends on the material ie Sport or Dram, but you can test it out …

  • hi hear ya,

we are in London and do technical corrections to over 150 spots a day, I would love to move to FCPX but here are the main issues

1 . No multi-audio assignment in SDI land, we do a shed load of 4 channel and 8 channel clips that need to be standard converted and FCP7 can do this no worries

    2. Batch Export – I know you can load them up but when we are exporting 10 – 15 commercials at a time it can be lost within 1 second

    3. SDI monitoring – we can have 1080i5994, 1080p2398 and SD PAL / NTSC in 1 project, having to exit and reselect is a ballache.

We do use FCPX for all our inhouse corp work and DSLR stuff, I personally love FCPX and where it is going but until those issues are available I am stuck with FCP7

May 7, 2013 at 5:04 am in reply to: Premiere Pro CC it is then?

Bring back the tape to tape workflow 🙂

What happens when fcp7- a 32 bit app doesn’t open on 10.x … This is my issues, so you end up having 10000000 boot drives with every os ever made.

We are in the process of moving from fcp7 to either fcpx, premiere, smoke but not avid.

My thoughts on avid vary but as we do a lot of reversioning avids digital exporting just doesn’t work for us, ie we do around 200 spots a day varying from pal and NTSC ad to 2398 and 2k

My thoughts on cc are we as a society are to reliant on connectivity, if there is an issue of connectivity then we are unable to create our craft, understandably this is only required once a month, but imagine if you cut your spot in cs5 and move to cc, wonder what happens if you can’t open your assets / sequences down the line.

There really should be an option for download which is mac addresses locked to you machine, there is so many ways to attach watermarks to you machine, and he’ll like you house, if burglars want to beak in they will !
