all of the stabilized data gets stored in the project file, as does the luts. I recommend rendering out any stabilized shots and don’t add luts to individual clips but use an adjustment layer. Also, some people create smaller sequences as edits as well.
You will find the project file shrinks significantly. -
at this point, you will need to narrow down what is causing the issue. transcode a test file to dnxhd with prelude before importing into premiere. do no effects, render test for 10 minutes. if that crashes, you’re looking at possible hardware conflict/failure.

try changing preferences from performance to memory.
and render out to prores hq then import the master and render out final h.264. this might fix the running of of memory crash.other things to try:
1. delete your preferences ALT+SHIFT held down (on Windows), or OPT+SHIFT mac while reopening premiere.
2. remove In and Out marks set before dragging footage onto timeline
3. voiding using the Morph Cut transition
4. close Chrome and all its services
4. update gfx drivers
5. update all adobe software to latest whatever it is.
7. remove all cross-dissolves
8. clear media cache folder
9. import using only media browser
10. check for red giant plugins that need updating
11. import sequence into new sequence might be corrupt
12. remove appnap program
13. Disconnect any third party hardware like monitors (these sometimes crash as dual monitor setups)
14.in you BIOS, have AMD Turbo Core fully DISABLED -
if you have 4k, you would need a brand new 6 core new i-7 @4.2GHZ
The easiest transcode/preview codec on your cpu is cineform. if that doesn’t work, your cpu just can’t handle online editing.You can still use the offline proxy mode in premiere which is also automatic now.

what type of video is this?
i know the new jpeg importer engine has a bug and won’t remember frame rates. you can open with older engine or transcode. -
create new administrator account and use premiere from there. also fix your permissions issue.

if they are really variable framerate, premiere won’t work with them anyway. if handbrake doesn’t convert them sucessfully to constant framerate, you may need to try another converter. if you drop them into a 24 sequence, premiere by default will add a bunch of duplicate whole frames. you can right click frame blend or pixel blend to smooth out the motion if you want.
(Clip > Video Options > Time Interpolation > Optical Flow) or Frame Blend.

i still find it bizarre that people pay hundred of dollars for luts when each camera’s individual contrast, sat, settings will completely wreck the intent of the lut, not to mention lighting. The user who made it, has a certain monitor brand, next to a bright window, and makes rough gamma settings to try to offset that particular environment. his gamma 2.2 will not be your gamma 2.2 even if he is calibrated. this is because of ambient light. no one ever uses the ambient light function on spyders and color temp d50 bulbs anyway. Another problem is, if you slap a lut on a shadowy shot, it will be 20x harder to correct it. using a lut is like taking a big mess from someone and then paying them to give you a big mess.
