Over at the download section of the matrox website you
can download all of their non hardware independent codecs. You can render to them in vegas. I don’t know for a fact
you can output them to tape from the timeline but my guess
would be that you could from the capture mode print to tape
and import the rendered files there.here’s the list:
DV/DVCAM
DVCPRO
DVCPRO-50
M-Jpeg
Mpeg2 I-frame -
Is quicktime 7 out for pc yet?
I thought it was mac only for now.
I would think you could once its out.

May 19, 2005 at 5:25 pm in reply to: I need help to get out of the dark ages (Just plain clueless)Thats not a problem. Just the way it is for previewing without
a hardware mpeg2 card. You can only do that with scenarist though I think.Build your project then preview it with a software DVD player on your
system. Synch will be perfect unless it was out of synch from premiere.Sounds like your all set. 🙂

I don’t get it. It seems like some kind of blocking going
on where it won’t allow a url pasted even though I know
I’ve done it before. If it is because of a url why doesn’t it just say you can’t
do that instead of saying its offline?Ron?
I’ve waisted enough time on this thread and don’t wanna
tick anyone off so this is my last reply to it.If you want to know what I was talking about see
the SWIFTDATA 200 + Blackmagic thread. thats what I was trying to
post. -
It’s like if the content is copied and pasted
(text) it refuses to post.I’ll try it now….
doesn’t work still. very odd.

Very strange.
every time I try and post an article it fails and says
unavailable but if I type up something new like the above
it works.what the heck is going on here?
sorry to bother anyone about this. I just want to post about
a killer new product and was wondering if it works with
Decklink cards. -

May 18, 2005 at 5:03 pm in reply to: System advice: What (prebuilt) system do you recommend for $1200?Dell has been having some amazingly cheap offers lately on
systems. I would recommend them.in my case, I just got a P4 2.8ghz Hyper threading cpu, 512mb ram,
onboard audio, video & network card and a 40gb hard drive with xp home installed plus a mouse and a keyboard AND a free 15 inch LCD screen
for 399 (after $ 100 rebate) now thats a deal! I couldn’t build
one for cheaper than that and this system has an intel chipset
motherboard. I thought it would be an el cheapo SIS or VIA.For 1,200 you should be able to get a smokin editing system at DELL.

May 17, 2005 at 4:43 pm in reply to: I need help to get out of the dark ages (Just plain clueless)Simple…easy…and HIGHLY compatible would be Sonic ReelDVD.
http://www.sonic.com it retails for 250 now which is a sweet deal
considering it has the same build engine as the uber-expensive
and most professionaly (hollywood) used DVD authoring app
of all time–Scenarist.if thats not in the budget though you could just as easily
use tmpgenc author though. But I would highly recommend ReelDVD.
