Steve. I agree about the GPU avoidance.

Before I got Vegas, I used Premiere Pro. When I time-tested actual video rendering, using the style I actually use, I noticed almost no difference engaging my 800 Dollar GPU graphic card. I did notice more hang ups (white screen). I wish I had the 800 Bucks back. ☺

Anyhow I’m happy with Vegas 16. Somethings Vegas effects seem oddly operated compared to PPro — but I’ll eventually get over the differences. Overall it’s better for the material I use now.

Usually my Vegas 16 crashes are only when clicking on the external monitor button at various times.

Vegas 16 is better than Vegas 13 about crashing or just simply not working with my Black Magic Design video adapter.

I try to “save” frequently. I’ve noticed that when things get really slow to launch, I start re-clicking — and that’s when the whole thing crashes. As if they don’t protect from improper double-launching things with poor protection.

Thanks for the reply. My new Windows 10 computer with Vegas 16 keep halting with that error message.

I used the same USB-3 portable BluRay writing drive and ran it on an older computer with Windows-7 and old Vegas Pro 13. Well, it wrote the avi file to a BluRay disk just fine.

I want to abandon this older computer and Use the Vegas 16 with Windows 10 on the new computer. However this has became a problem to solve.

    Jorma,

I will try that too. It may be a way to hide the problem – even though I will also try to solve it.

That drop down shadow is also there on every DVD I own when you first pop a DVD in the player or jump out of any menu into a place on a DVD. It is really annoying and I want to get rid of it.

Good point. That is worth trying today.

Normally I do edit clips/chapters or spaces at markers with either a static graphic that straddles the area of concern or a fade to black and fade back (in areas of a second or so) to avoid the broken GOP problem. Also a fade down/up space of the audio to avoid clicks.

The video clips in this test-learning video were just a few MP4 clips of a minute or two each I pulled right out of a Sony camera with no editing or black fades yet. So that may be what I need to do next – edit the test video in Vegas first and then import it to DVD Architect.

    Thanks Laszlo.

The end -action function wasn’t working as I expected — until I noticed chapters 3 and 4 were listed in reverse order! Such as 1-2-4-3-5-6. So now it works OK.
