Thanks for your quick response. I will definitely go that route. I also just thought of manually tracing the patterns in illustrator.

As for the mountain, sorry I should have been more clear. What I meant to get a cross was adding depth to the distance between the mountain and house. I want to make both objects seem they are some distance apart but meet atop the roof. I thought that perhaps warping the mountains dimension would get me there, but no victory so far.

Also, we came across each other some weeks back concerning some a graphic made out of lines. I have trapcode, and I have been trying to use the many effects but still no where where I want. Is it form and starglow that I should be using? Sorry, as I mentioned in that AfEf thread, I am a newbie.

Hey Johnny,

I havent really added any effects on the illustration itself, I hope its just a composition setting though, i.e Bit to 16 rather than 8 in illustrator. Im not near my machine right now, so I cant test that idea out.

Currently, I am not able to get trapcode due to budget constraints. Ive made the lines in illustrator, sp no problem there. So would It be possible to make a color map without trapcode, if indeed color mapping would create a similar color effect? I tried looking up color mapping for after effects but all I get is layer mapping.

Update:

I did in fact re-link the original 4k from my proxy files, however, just like I feared the original 50 fps footage of the original 4k move at a very fast rate and the length of my clip is different from the proxy.

Keep in mind that the master timeline is set at 25 FPS as well. I’m at a standstill so any hints would greatly help.

Dave thanks for the post! I’m fiddling with the video now. I should mention though that I ultimately want to use the luma key to take out one color, mainly the background color, in order to only have one moving image and color. The overall idea is to project this image onto a surface already illuminated by a color, thus substituting the background that does not exists in the video. Just in case my theory does not pan out, do you have any recommendations for this issue?

Thanks a lot! I will give it a go and make it work. You may be onto something with the Lut’s so I will defintely go that route and fiddle with the image.
