Did you also copy the XMLs along with the audio and video MXF files? In this case our P2 Flow CM solution is able to send everything properly to FCP, including linked video/audio, timecode and metadata.

Hey Noah,
the open QuickTime architecture is very powerful and as you might know our MXF solutions integrate in Mac OS X and FC Studio solutions via QuickTime. We provide icons and preview support yet on the Finder’s file management level so it really feels like it would be part of the system and part of QuickTime.
MXF itself is very complex and comprehensive. Adding the fast and direct access without converting all these different variations from various creators (even if they contain the same kind of compression formats) is the real challenge and needs lots of testing and validating. Our MXF archive contains more than 15000 test files and it’s growing every week. We also reported many issues within MXF files and helped manufactures and customers to fix or improve the file structure.

XDCAM Transfer only works with Sony XDCAM footage, not with P2.
Try updating to the latest FCP 6.0.5.
Check also this tutorial about our native P2 MXF support with P2 Flow CM:

I don’t think so, there is no difference between a LTC that comes from a live feed or from a VTR/camcorder.

An UID won’t help here.
– The P2 proxies have only 2 audio clips and no timecode which would popup a message in FCP when trying to reconnect the 4 channel hi-res files but this is still manageable.
– The worst thing is the different file name extension name, the proxies use MP4, the hi-res is MXF or later when ingested with Log & Transfer, it’s MOV. This means a lot of manual reconnecting. With a bunch of clips it’s a pain. There will be soon a podcast here are creative cow how to convert AVC-I video to ProRes but keep it in the orignal P2 structure to send it to FCP using our software or even to reconnect it later to the original files or move it to an Avid that can deal with AVC-I. This workflow can also be used to create proxies which are easy to reconnect later.
If you can’t wait for this tutorial then you can contact me through our website and I will give you some options how to establish a working low-res/hi-res workflow: https://mxf4mac.com/contact

Yes, just drag and drop to FCP. I guess you need to de-install previous software you tried as there might be some conflicts.
Please contact us directly through our website. We will also give you a call to help you solving the problem.

I am not sure what’s wrong with your setup. I never got such a database message, usually you just add those MXF files and convert them to MOV.
Maybe you give our MXF Import solution a try, a free demo is available: https://mxf4mac.com/mxf4qtimport
It can access the native D10/IMX MXF files (including audio) from XDCAM without converting them to MOV.
