I’m on thin ice here, but i _think_ any analog audio router would work. Don’t know what the cable specs are for LTC, but as far as I know, it passes through standard audio cable fine, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it go through an audio distribution amp.

Though I’ll have to leave it to someone else to tell if this would be considered a failsafe approach 🙂

What you’re looking for is called a “DI box”, and there are lots of different models out there. They’re most commonly used in live and studio audio production, but I believe there are a number of models intended for mounting on cameras and such as well.

They all convert a line signal to a mic signal, but quality and features differ from model to model. Active boxes are usually better than passive ones, but require battery or phantom power. You may also be able to find a box that can take power from your cam.

    Hope that helps 🙂

To me this looks like a problem with the video input, not the control cable, since it appears the rec command is reaching the deck as it should (the deck does go into rec after the NO INPUT message, right?).

Which kind of input are you sending to the deck? Component, SDI, firewire or something else? And what about the audio?

When Cris here asked wether you are able to get audio and video signal to the deck, you answered yes. Do you mean that you can see the video on the deck’s monitor when the deck is in stop/pause, but not when in rec? Or does the image appear more randomly?

(Oh, and since this is my first post, after a lurking for a long time, I guess I should throw out a big hello to everyone as well 🙂
