    i see two possible reasons: 1. you used a different codec when you rendered your project to a file. You should render with the same codec–microsoft DV pal. 2. or, you think the quality is poor because you are previewing it in your computer monitor and is watching it in full screen. Preview your video via firewire out to TV (you need something like ADVC 100 to do that.

    Basically, you cant export to tape from after effects. You can render your project to a file then use premiere or any editing software to export to tape. However, if you have a really fast system, you can use AE’s RAM preview to export to tape (using also the firewire output of AE). Check if your system is up to it. Make a ram preview and see if its playing all the frames consistently. If it does, then you could export to tape. I wouldnt recommend it as a good practice though.
