December 12, 2005 at 9:43 am in reply to: making ink-like drawn comic-face , matching methodsWell , it’s the method i used, and results you can see in my post above , but if you take a closer look at strokes, they look similar but they’re different, i still can’t make aef_made stroke to be such distorted – not only edges , the way of ink lay on paper, i can’t explain it exactly in english 😉 – like original one,
i know , many of you will say,draw it , scan it, make layers in photoshop and then animate ,BUT, is this the only way ?
There is one thing i was thinking about, but i’m not sure if it is in real like i’m thinkging about it, MAYA.
It’s much more work but maybe making low-poly face models, and use for render some custom cartoon shader will work out,
i don’t have maya so i cant try it by myself,
what do you think about it ?Alek.

i was thinking about making it with stroke but mainly i was thinking much more about making it all in aef with some direction_distortion efects without using photoshop, i’ll try to make a variation of directionblur mixed with something else mayby it will work out,

emmm… i’m not sure but i think that it was a render_like error :/ i was not expecting that effect to render. i had it in all my yesterday renders but i couldn’t explain were it come from. here’s prntscrn of setting that i used to create drops and link to todays render of the same project without any changes. strange, but this render is exactly what i wanted those drops to be.

sure 😉 working on it , it’s my first project with particles, so i still don’t understand the whole proces of phisics in it.

once again , hello all =)
first thing, that convention of liquid gel felt down to trashcan and new one is on. drop of paint falling on sheet of paper and then brushed out.
after few hours i have managed to get such result:

there is one thing that absorbs my attention is how to get hairy brush stroke effect in aef , because now i have used photoshop to make it and i’m not satisfied with the final resolt. maybe someone have a solution for this 🙂Alek.

Yup thankyou Michael , it helped me a lot. Slash is quite nice, and i could use a cchair as a brush , what i couldn’t do with my previous version based on particular.

well ,
thanks for advice, but i have tryed few options by myself and found a mix of effects basicly based on particular effect quite good

https://www.fsk.waw.pl/aef/farba.movbut now i have another problem with aux system particles , i want them to stay on “floor” layer after birth instead of moving all the time and fading out. i have to notice that making time value of particle haven’t done the suspected effect.
any ideas welcome =)

well , i have managed to overpass this strange behavior of encore by myself 😉
solution :
create new project and add everything step by step to have a nice clear cue of items in project.same items , same actions , same links , different order.
strange but now it’s working.cheers, Alek

i’ve checked everything but still same sh** , from range of 10 videos , nr. 3,4,5,6 are repeating itself one more time before excecute proper end action
