Pazera is a quick n’ easy FLV – AVI converter. Ditto Total Video
Converter. Make sure you download them from trusted sources – e.g.
    download.com

Firefox has a plugin called ‘YouPlayer’. You drag the video link on to it and then you can right click and save as a movie.

I’ve used it a couple of times and works well.

VideoLan VLC – simple to use, erightsoft SUPER, more complex. more options, more invalid choice possibilities, better quality.

Edits like a charm in PPRO CS3 using custom desktop video editing mode.

For those doubting that this can be worthwhile, the Enron Smartest Guys movie grossed $4 million and was made up almost entirely of what appear to be Real Media clips from the 90’s. YouTube quality is usually much higher, especially recent uploads.
