[Juan Salvo] “When I first read your sentence I thought you were talking about an Amiga video toaster,”

    LOL, me, too.

    jinx!

i get crashes all the time on multiple systems at vfx shops, agency’s, etc – not just at home..regardless its a great tool and hopefully they will try to compete with Baselight, Lustre, etc with some plugins, 64bit, etc.

I guarantee plugins will not reduce the number of crashes.

I get crashes when I’m rendering and Resove reads a corrupt dnxhd file. Kind of annoying to wait for the program and project to reload every time it finds a bad file. I wish I would just raise an error or better yet skip the bad file and continue to render for everything else.

You know, I’ve never had FCP crash on me a single time in all the years I’ve used it. Which is weird, because I work in tech support at a college that runs FCP — at which it crashes for people on a daily basis (albiet not NEARLY as much as the Avids). Even when I go into the suites and try my hardest to break it again, I always seem to be in its favor.

It’s kind of like Apple winking at me personally, saying, “You’re cool, dude. We good.”

I mean that the plugins will actually introduce new vulnerabilities. Making the system less stable overall.

[Clark Bierbaum] “I can get to crash if you play forward / play reverse without hitting stop first (on the wave.) Is this a known bug or just me – all versions have done this and I just try to hit stop between play directions.”

Yes, that’s how I also get it to crash. Less so if my working bit depth is 8 bit (not 10)
