Consider your typical lighting requirements. All 1/3inch cameras are much less sensitive than standard def cameras 1/3inch.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply’s. I am more news, run and gun stuff. some short form doc’s. I’t sounds like for storage, durablility , the Sony will be the one. ( i think i will be able to use my sony batteries too!)Thanks again everybody!

Of course – but a more expensive solution. The original post was between the HVX and the V1 and to me the V1 is the clear winner – better picture, better form factor, less expensive and affordable OEM hard drive solution.
