At NAB Adobe basically said they were done with Encore. It’s as far as they need it to be. I’m sure they’ll update the app to ensure it’s compatible with newer OS’s if they can. Otherwise you might have to keep an older OS partition around to run it.
I can’t even remember the last BluRay I ran and am about to run 200 DVDs for the first time all this year. Definitely a dying market and I can understand why Adobe is not putting much more effort into updating Encore.

June 18, 2013 at 11:19 pmI believe that I read on one of the Adobe news releases during the buildup to the CC, that Encore development was temporarily suspended, but that it was not going to be EOL’d. Of course anything is subject to change…

indeed. In our staff meeting this morning I mentioned how our two duplicators used
to be humming nearly 4 days a week almost all year. not so much any more. And the replicators are offering custom usb keychains as a product since
they don’t have much else to do these days. -

June 19, 2013 at 12:58 amLooks like I’m wrong – I guess it is a goner. I’ll stick with CS6 version until I no longer need to burn DVDs – there’s not much call for them lately.

June 19, 2013 at 3:51 pmSo what is a good alternative professional quality DVD/BD authoring software if future OS updates break Encore? Where I work USB sticks are a no-no for security reasons, so I still put out quite a few DVDs every month, and I don’t want to get caught with my proverbial pants down.

June 19, 2013 at 4:11 pmWhile the FAQ mentions that it’s the final major release, I don’t know if it’s definitively EOL as I’m sure there may be maintenance updates like Adobe has promised for CS6, at least for a while longer.
Time for a feature request to roll Encore features into a Premiere panel.
They ought to make it a separate download from Premiere CS6 – that is a bit of a pain in the ass.

June 19, 2013 at 4:25 pmFrom the Adobe FAQ:
Encore CS6 is supported on Microsoft® Windows® 7 with Service Pack 1 (64 bit) and Mac OS X v10.6.8 or
v10.7. Please note that Encore CS6 support for future operating system updates or new hardware
platforms will not be provided. -
