Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. The key thing seems to be that you must have the browser as the focus object before doing the apple f. This also answers the other question I had which was how to find where in the browser a clip is, that is in a sequence.

    Thanks all for your help

I must say this solution of typing in the clip name in the search function while in the browser window and doing “find all” doesn’t seem to work for me. It finds only the clip itself and not the sequences where it’s used. I am still looking for a way to find where a certain clip is used (which sequences). Doing the coloring trick isn’t practical in my situation as I have a ton of footage and many sequences.

    any ideas?

    thanks!
