Stick with Compressor for most things. It ain’t crap at all.
I spent ages a while back doing tests through every compression software and Compressor still came out tops. Especially for its m2v files.

You can’t customise the mpg size? I’m sure you can. Not that I’ve encoded to mpg for about 5 years….!
