Thanks Shane, it’s good to hear. Now I wish that dang camera could be here, so I have something to do on my holiday… (!)

BTW, I was actually recommended to try/buy the HD log instead of P2 Log. HD Log can both copy the footage (up to three disks at the same time) and convert into QT files (you don’t have to use Log and Transfer) or convert to XML files for import in FCP.

Gee, now it’s getting difficult… what are your opinon (both you Shane and the rest of you reading this thread)?

[Niklas Wikman] “convert into QT files (you don’t have to use Log and Transfer) or convert to XML files for import in FCP. “

The convert to QT and XML is the same thing, really. What happens is that the software wraps the QTs, then exports an XML with your UserClipNames for use in FCP for easy clip identification.

Hd Log has other features that P2Log does not. SUch as offloading, batch clip repair instead of single clip repair and then all of the other logging features that extend beyond a p2 workflow.

ALso, HDLog has Quantum archiving built in if you choose to go that route.

I decided to Purchase HD Log (Bronze). The Quantum feature could be a nice thing, although the offload is what I think would be most used.
