January 21, 2010 at 10:10 pmTerry, I know exactly what you mean.
Even long time friends who know what I do for a living refuse to let me adjust their (horribly mis-adjusted) TV sets.
Some you win and some you lose and it’s not worth losing sleep over 🙂 -

January 22, 2010 at 5:19 amMike was the MAN that put me onto the JVC, years ago now, and I too use this as my DATUM for all things video. I have a 40″ SONY Bravia to which I play and QA my output via DVD and HDMI, and it looks the biz. But all, ALL has been previously sheep-dipped via my JVC. I can then tell and stubbornly dig my heels in when any client wants to discuss/argue colour ways and temperatures. Likewise, I can beat myself up with what does and doesn’t look good, but at the end of the day the JVC just sits there and doesn’t take any notice of my “creative” tantrums.
What is worth knowing is that this same JVC box is still being sold – this TM-H150C. Now there just HAS to be a reason for that – yes?
Grazie
