For HD work, I think the cheapest CRTs are around $5k.”The Sony PVM14L5/1 is about $1,600. If you can find the 20″ anywhere, they list at about $2,500. Very affortable CRT’s for HD and SD monitoring and color correction.

July 3, 2006 at 6:47 amFor those on a budget the Sony pvm monitor line (PVM-14L5/1 & 20L5/1) exist which allows a good monitor suitable for field and post work but without the sticker shock of the higher end bvm line.
I have both the 14″ and 20″ which I use for field and post work and along with a Sencore monitor probe am quite happy with the units.
