Mike,
What do you recommend as best source of information on Vegas and DVDA? I have read the manuals, watched the videos on Utube and searched the web for tutorials, and so far, am in the dark about a most of the functions included in both. I find the manual for both programs barely mimimal to get started with them, let alone reach any degree of proficiancy.
Any suggestions?

Edward Troxel’s newsletters are an excellent (and free!!) resource.
In addition, Sony has a series of newsletters that usually comes with a valuable tip or two.
VASST has a number of on their site training DVDs on their site.
Finally, Blue 7 Media is a comprehensive site with links to a LOT of Vegas sites of all kinds.
