I got the specs from the computer that the coaches are using.Emachine T5022
Pentium 4 CPU 2.93GHz
1gb ram
XP Home Service Pac 2Would it be at all possible for them to copy the game files from the camera (panasonic) to this computer then burn them onto DVD (no editing needed)?
Thanks again for your time.
Thanks

Without knowing what the software program is- no- I couldn’t tell you. My guess would be no. Here is why. The Panasonic shots in an .mts file ~ not .avi. This would not work for the present, nor would it work for earlier versions of Vegas. At that point you really would need to run v.10. But here is what you need to think about. While you may not be able to use it on computer right now, when and if an upgrade happens -(one year from now or so, maybe two) this file format will be more of “the norm”. Need to think for the future. If you buy a camera that works with your older system, then when you do upgrade, you will be missing out. So again, thinking as a public school teacher (as I am by day) I would try to create a work flow that gets me where I get the best picture for the best buck. Again, you have to understand my perspective is trying to future proof your camera for several years. You could burn blu-rays from this camera, and who is to say that in a year or two they won’t have a stand alone burner for that?
If you tell me what software is being used for DVD burning, I might be able to give you another suggestion on work flow or an SD camera.
For what it is worth.

January 24, 2011 at 6:12 pmHi Neal, (or anyone else out there),
I’m trying to find the “Panasonic VW-BN2 DVD Burner” but am not having any luck. It’s either back ordered or discontinued. Do you know if Panasonic has replaced it? Or where I can find one or something that would work instead of?
Thanks
Dave P.
