Vegas Pro 9, still having problems with AVCHD rendering at 1080i…

This is freaking ridiculous now. Are we sure that Sony is actually aware of the problem? Doesn’t seem like it would be a hard thing to fix. What are they doing?

Yes Nathan, this is absolutely rediculous, after spending hundreds of dollars on this product and after all these updates from Sony. But I figured out a good workaround though. I render the audio and video streams separately,(AVCHD and AC3 using the 16mbps Blu-ray template) then using the muxer to join them. Gives me flawless video (as far as I can tell so far).

I opened a ticket with them, and the guy said he couldn’t reproduce the problem. I wrote back saying I had just rendered at 1080i AVCHD, default settings….and it’s having the problem!
They never wrote me back, so maybe they’re in denial at this point?

Any updates on this problem? I’ve given up even trying until I hear that Vegas can render 1080i AVCHD.

Well Nathan, not as far as I know. But I’ve been using tsMuxeR as I said earlier. While it is an extra step, it still gives me beautiful video. I still find Vegas to be one of the most versatile editors out there, and with AfterEffects I am able to produce some awsome stuff.

Looks like Vegas Pro 10 is out! Anyone have a chance to try this yet? Can it actually render a 1920x1080i avchd m2ts file and actually play on devices without TS Muxer?!?! Oh the suspense!
