Vegas Movie Studio HD crashing while rendering

Mike, the following is what I did to get it to work and render properly.I first of all disabled the firewall and then went offline.Then I disabled “Diagnostic Policy Service” and bamn!it took it around four hours to render that .m2t but its done.I want to thank you and the rest who came here and tried to help.Issue has been solved for me and yes,now I can start a new project.

Ariel, I’m glad to hear that you finally got it resolved.
It never occurred to me that you were still connected when you were attempting to render.
I make sure I’m disconnected as well as disabling any unnecessary services (anti-virus included) when I render as it allows the computer to focus on the task at hand.
I know there are folks who don’t bother doing this but I have no desire to tempt the computer gremlins any more than I have to 🙂

I too am having problems rendering with Vegas Movie Studio 11. My processor maxes out and over heats, causing my computer to shut down. I have an Intel core i5 M 430 @ 2.27 GHz 2.27GHz, Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion lap top. I’m shooting in MOV. If I try to render in a low res MOV setting I can get away with rendering about 30 min. of video. Rendering in any other format is out of the question.

And this is Vegas’ problem, how?

Clean out the dust bunnies.
Add a supplemental fan.

Vegas is extremely processor intensive and will push the core temperatures up to the edge. Which is one of the reasons that overclocking is never recommended for an editing workstation.

You *do* monitor your CPU temperature using the free program “coretemp”, don’t you?

Your replies tend to be condescending. I havn’t had this problem before using Vegas so I thought I’d ask. I’ll try what applicable advise you’ve offered.

Michael, Steve was not being condescending.
You jumped in on an existing thread instead of starting a new one (this is considered poor forum behaviour).
Did you try any of the suggestions Steve or I made here (which is the advice he offered) before asking your question?
