**Vegas crashes everytime it loads, re-installing does not solve problem!!**

Sometimes you have to go ahead and pay the $29 for a one time trouble shooting session with Sony . I have done that when I have exhausted everything that I know and has been suggested. I can be very frustrating . Sony did help me and the problem was resolved and then I posted the solution .

FileIOSurrogate.exe is a Windows Component installed by Vegas.

Try running “sfc /scannow” in a CMD window (without the quotes).

Hey !!

Thanks for your post!! I deleted the FileIOSurrogate.exe and now Vegas loads without errors, it is working !! 😀

Time will tell if its a permanent fix, but so far it looks hopeful!

I keep the Windows Task Manager icon on my toolbar,
for if Vegas stalls, to easily open it and end Vegas processes
and get it up running.
Sad when one has to have workarounds for Vegas.
