    Greetings,

Could someone point me out for the plugins directory of Vegas 18 please? I’ve installed the Mercalli ProDAD suite and it automatically copied its plugin files to C:\ProgramData\Magix\Common\VfxPlugins\. However in Vegas I can’t find the plugins anywhere.

Maybe the install folder is used for a previous version of Vegas so I want to copy the prodad .DLL plugin files from the folder above to the proper place.

Could you please tell me where should I copy the DLL plugin files?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Tobin

I’m using VP 19 Pro, but I believe that all of the drivers and plugin locations did not change for this version. For Mercalli, check your \Program Files\Prodad\Mercalli-? folder. For New Blue, I have DLL files in my \Program Files\NewBlue\(NewBlue Package) folders. NewBlue Package= Video Essentials, Flash Remover Pro, Audio Scrubbers, etc. For Titler Pro, check your \Documents\NewBlue\Titler Pro\Library for folders containing any saved .nbtitle files and templates. At least these are the folders where my files reside. I don’t think I would move or copy .dll titles around. If the program does not work, just reinstall it.

The standard location for plugins for VEGAS is:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins

However, you may need to clear the VEGAS cache in order for everything to appear if you’ve added something and it’s not there.

    Thank you!

Could you please help me how can I clear the VEGAS cache? Do I need to delete cache files in the C:\Users\…\AppData\MAGIX / Vegas / Sony, etc folders or C:\ProgramData\MAGIX, etc folders or it’s the program’s own directory?

Hold down CTRL-SHIFT and start VEGAS. You’ll be prompted with a window that has a checkbox that says “clear cache”. Check that box and continue. Please note that will also reset VEGAS back to factory defaults.

If you don’t want to reset VEGAS back to factory defaults, you can Close Vegas, Delete plugin_manager_cache.bin and svfx_plugin_cache.bin from C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\{version#}, then retest.

Keep in mind that the “App Data” folder is probably a “Hidden” folder so you will need to have Windows “Show Hidden Folders”.
