Update old CPUs before buying server? And Storinator from 45Drives

I know this thread is old but interested to hear Bob’s and other people’s experience with 45Drives in the long term.

simple –
are you an expert with FreeBSD as an operating system ? If you are, then look at the Storinator.
If you say “what the hell is FreeBSD” – then there are countless other systems that are available on the market that are actually EASY to navigate and setup, without being an IT expert.

If you are asking because you saw a recent YouTube video from Linus Media Group – you should then watch Marquis comments at the end of that video. He wound up with a Lumaforge Jellyfish, because he did not have the time to screw around with it. There are lots of great systems are the market from ProMax, Studio Network Solutions, Lumaforge, QNAP, Synology, etc.
But hey – if you have the initiative to become a FreeBSD IT guy – then go for it !
