August 26, 2010 at 7:02 pmWow I have never had all those problems with Sound Forge and I never use Save As, I always Save because I want to save the take that was created by saying “open copy”. I would follow whatever Sony told you if it’s working for you.
One thing I do is split the audio into the sections I want to process. Then only that part of the audio is copied. It sounds like you did not use Open Copy and you used Open instead which will open the original video file which you don’t want to do.
Question: is Sound Forge Pro 10 a necessary upgrade? Or do I have what I need at the moment?
The major new feature of Sound Forge 10 for me is the ability to edit as events just like In Vegas. This is the most helpful feature since I started using Sound Forge 4.0. Other than that, it’s not necessary to have the latest for what you want to do.

August 26, 2010 at 7:05 pmNext I opened Camera B audio track in Sound Forge, and applied Noise Reduction 2.0. When I went to save it, it said, “Unable to save all metadata inside of the file.
You want to Open Copy. Never open the original.

August 26, 2010 at 8:51 pmJohn, I am sorry if I am slow with this stuff.
One short term goal is to find time to finish the VASST Absolute Training series, and the Now Hear This DVD. There is so much good stuff in there that I have to watch each section 4-5 times just to catch it all. But I believe if I can learn how to use these tools to their fullest extent it will save me a ton of time.
I have to take this as kind of a victory, though, because right now Sony Noise Reduction is applied to all three audio tracks in Vegas x64! I did not think I could do that! 🙂
So thanks again for your help.
