troubles with Areca 1882x and RAID array

My client uses ARC-1882x, CR-16E (which uses your expander) and 12 WD Reds in RAID6 – for about three weeks now. Tested the hell out of them too – was worried about WD Reds not being certified for sets larger than five drives. So far so good.

These controllers and expanders are in a lot of arrays all over the place so if this was a consistent problem, we’d have heard of it.

Thank you, Alex. Yes, I’d have hoped to have run across this issue if it were common to this combination, so it’s heartening to hear of at least one specific instance where they’re working well (and your client’s setup is indeed *very* similar to mine — only real difference would seem to be the backplane, but I think I’ve established that’s not the issue in my case).
