Terrible Vegas – black preview windows while adding more video files

There is a known issue with Vegas importing multiple mov files from some sources. I recently tried to import a dozen or so mov files from an iPhone. Individually, or in small numbers, they imported fine, but after I had imported a larger quantity, my preview went black.

As I also have a version of Pinnacle Studio installed on my PC (for introducing beginners to editing), I imported the mov files into Pinnacle and exported them as m2t files. I then brought that back into Vegas.

I bit of a runaround, but I had no alternative nor the luxury of time to report it to Sony.
