To clarify Walter’s comment: With the CS4 release, what was a part of Premiere Pro is now it’s own application – Adobe Media Encoder. It is part of Production Premium.

The Adobe Media Encoder allows you to drop in files and convert to the typical formats like either Compressor or Episode. It works in the background now allowing you to keep working while you transcode/convert. From within Premiere you can send a timeline for output and keep working in Premiere Pro. It also has the speech-to-text functionality.

Many of AME’s codecs are based from Main Concept, which is a good codec company.

Given all three, I would probably agree with Walter that Episode is the best all around encoding product, but try all three to see what works best for you.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello

I’d like to join into the conversation and ask for recommendations for creating FLV files for display on the web.

I edit videos in FCP 6.0.6 and work with Compressor 3.0.5 and Adobe Media Encoder CS4.

I have a number of videos that need to be resized. Any suggestions as to which program provides a better quality image when resizing and deinterlacing, Compressor or Adobe Media Encoder. Is Adobe Media Player an all-in-one solution?

    Marlene
