The patch doesn’t work for me!!

Has anybody else found a solution to this horrid VTR tape trouble…*^&$@

Called tech support and we have found nothing that works..
I have replace the 422 cable, dumped preferences (many times),
Dumped the P Ram, shut down start up, reconnected all my cables, and asked Jesus for help, and nothing..I get about 3 minutes into capture and it just stops…I don’t get it this has never been an issue until just recently..

I’m stumped.

Erik,

Did you ever find a solution? I have also tried all of the “fixes” you mentioned, but they don’t last very long. I also get the “NO COMMUNICATION” error. What Mac system are you running and what version of the IoLA firmware do you have?

…it’s happening to me, too, though i see this thread is well over a year old. Just got a BMD HD Extreme card, dumped out four tapes the other night (to my 1800) without a hitch, not getting this error. I don’t know if the patch will do anything since it seems to be for AJA…

very frustrating. i’ve been using the Y loop (into Ref In, then out of Ref and back to Y in) for years with my old BMD card, though now Bob Zellin has me convinced to finally get a black burst generator…and i now have one on order, but need to drop some more tapes before the BBG gets here. any help with this problem would be dandy…
