April 21, 2009 at 2:43 amThanks for the response Tom. I’m going to set it up that way and see how it looks. My company’s policy is to give old hardware to charity rather than resell it, but who knows – times are hard. If I don’t end up hanging onto it, and another one of our studios has no need for it, I’ll see what you’re offering and see if it’s enough to interest the powers that be into a policy change.
I’m also considering upgrading my Dell 2405 and DeckLink HD to a Flanders Scientific studio monitor. Those have scopes (albeit at half the frame rate), but maybe that will suffice.

April 21, 2009 at 6:45 pmWhat do you mean it’s quiet? Apple is about to hit a billion downloads from the App Store. Says so in HUGE letters on their home page.
Not enough excitement for ya? 🙂

April 23, 2009 at 5:49 pmWas at NAB for only the second time in my 15+ year career.
I found the 3d televisions mostly laughable. Almost all had glasses, even the old red/blue paper ones. Those just gave me a headache. A few did look phenomenal.
The Black Magic folks had a great looking touch screen patch panel that looked VERY cool, along with the aforementioned scope software.
Biggest highlight…………I got to meet, shake hands and thank Bob Zelin for all the great information he gave me over the years. He (among others) were very instrumental in getting my HD FCP edit suite built in my converted dining room.
Recognized him from across the room, you can’t mistake that hairdo!!!!
