We like things placid for the most part. As Kathlyn and I like to joke: “Cows are herbivores. Carnivores make ’em nervous.” We like honest and straightforward advice and answers but there really is no reason to insult people — well, most of the time. ;o)

Best regards and have a great new year,

First of all I said Vector scope. I own an HD wave form monitor. My point about you not being in the Union, was that all most all big budget jobs are Union, so you can’t really claim to be working at the top of the heap and talk down about “smaller markets”. My issue was not with your information, but rather your attitude, about which Ron said, “I would agree with Nick Gardner that this kind of “advice” is nothing more than snide, condescending soap-boxing that does no one any good.”

I think it is very sad that a potential resource of knowledge and experiance has been reduced to this type of petty posturing.

    Nick,

FYI the high end HD waveforms are dual combo devices and serve as both a waveform and vectoscope. Maybe you could return yours and upgrade to the full blown unit. However I thought you stated that you have never seen a HD waveform, vectorscope (ie engineering monitoring equipment) on set so why the heck would you own one other than to use it as a expensive paperweight?

It’s really sad to see you failed to really understand the root of my last post regarding the proper use of a waveform monitor and the impact on an informed end user.

John I apologize if might have offended you at first. If you would like more detailed information I will gladly provide that off line just provide your email address to where I can correspond.

    Best to all,

    Tony Salgado

    PS- Nick,

vectorscope and waveform are one word unless of course you only got half a unit.

    Tony,

I am truly sad that you are such a prick that you can’t just let this go. Good luck with your work for QVC and athletic infomercials. The whole point of all my posts to you has not been technical. It has been about your arrogant pissy attitude when presenting them. Just for the record, I have been working in this field for more than 15 years. Not as a dit, not as “location sound”, but as a DP. As in all things in life, you can not be truly good at something unless you commit to it. You have apparently commited to being a prick, and at that you truly accel.

I reckon I am done with the cow. God bless and God speed.

Happy new year. ( Hey Sean, how about some back up)
