Maybe this is the mixer I should be getting. Not sure of the cost.

December 31, 2005 at 6:17 amPeter that is not a mixer, it is a mixing control surface. It is really just an expensive mouse. There are no inputs for audio and no audio signal will pass through it. It is purely for controlling faders in your computer software program. Just hook up your mackie 1202 and as I explained and edit to your hearts content. If your are doing multitrack audio (like a lot of channels) in FCP and you want a control surface, to mix on the fly, then go for it. But from what you’ve said of your workflow so far that controller wont do you any good.

January 1, 2006 at 6:42 pmThanks Everyone for taking the time to help me as we take the plunge from M100 to FCP5
Audio Levals?
The Odb on my Mackie comes into FCP at approx -26db. You get -12 db (I get confused over the digital Odb and the Analog Odb.)
ALSO
Were not getting real time dissolves or real time by adding a second track gets a red bar.
We are in Safe RT. Capture input AJAlo la: YPb Pr Betacam US DV/DVCPRO.
2 gigs of RAM on a G52.7 /FCP5/ Betacam 2800
Best wishes for the New Year!
