As I said, “nothing” is a data point. It means that Vegas is not likely to be the problem.
Can you reproduce the problem on a smaller project? If so, try moving the project to a different hard disk drive and test again.

BTW, how long is the delay?

You didn’t say what your hardware is, but “green” drives, especially the first gen, would power down after a couple of seconds of not being used. Not good for video editing. The first-gen SSD drives also have a write delay, but that’s measured in milliseconds. Gamers hated it.

There are no ‘Green Drives’ using Caviar Black (2 x 1TB) plus an SSD for the OS/App

Delay seems anything form 30 sec to 2 mins
Only happens if I open in SF for edit.
