I know, it does not make sense, I am fully aware of the tech specs involved in this equation, but believe me, I put on some good headphones and compare both ways in FCP7, I do hear a difference, and I am not speaking of Volume.
That it does not make any sense, I am fully aware of.

All filters aside, it sounds different? You mentioned using different filters in x vs 7.

When I did the comparison, between the two ways in 7, and my usual way in 7 compared with X, I did it without filters.
Now, with alternating the Room Adjustment in the Panning section in X I get similar results.
