June 11, 2011 at 8:47 pmhey everybody, I see this problem was described two years ago, but for those who still struggle with this problem and are looking for a solution please follow my tip. (at least it worked for me). Open Vegas and the project which stucks at 0% when rendering. Now, AGAIN open Vegas (so you will have two programs running at the same time). From the first Vegas, select all the files from your project and copy them. Go to second running Vegas and paste the all the files. Try rendering now. Good luck everyone!

August 12, 2011 at 12:53 amGreat suggestion Andi. Just worked for me when having to work with some really old VOB files, and it saved me a pile of misery!
Cheers!

August 19, 2011 at 10:48 amIt seems that H.264 compression must be avoided at all times. When using Mpeg-streamer, make sure you don’t use the native H.264 codec that comes with Canons. Rather transcode to Sorenson, ProRes for mac or such. H.264 is I find the big problem. As we speak I’m re-transcoding a WHOLE project of 20 clips!!! It just wouldn’t render, since I forgot to transcode away from the codec of H.264. The file extension doesn’t matter, mpeg or MOV or whatever… it’s the kernel that buggers it up.

November 6, 2011 at 4:30 amI have 4 video tracks and an audio track for making a music video and the first time I rendered it.. 55.5gig was the avi. So I tried in a mp4 which it wont even play on and dropped it to 2gig. Its ridiculous because its a 7minute song. I have faded the video’s and lowered the opacity so that everything would be evenly blended but I cant find a way to make this work.. and it would be such an amazing video if it could work.. and the art I could make in the future, Oh Lord………… if there is anyone that can give me a hand, I have watched 30 something youtube video’s, read forums, toyed with the FX and cookie cutting and moving the videos around and its becoming a futile project but leaving any part of it out would leave it half alive. For background info, I recorded in 3 seperate locations for 7 minutes and have cut and moved around parts to create this masterpiece. The problem is that it lags up and slows down, doesn’t render well and if it renders it skips on the avi (as I mentioned before). Someone give me the golden lesson here and please dont let it be, it cant be done. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out. Really, in desperate need here, thanks so much.
