Sony Vegas Pro 13 – .MOV files are all of the sudden going black in the preview window and I can’t find a fix!

Vegas 15 may or may not have that script included anymore. You will have to do your own research on that. I do not have Vegas 15 loaded anymore.

If you want to convert say .MOV or another format the script above will use Vegas to render an alternate format. If you choose a good format to convert to, you will not see any loss of quality. Sometimes converting all your media from devices like phones can allow for more stable and fluid editing.

If you are good with Command Line apps like FFMPEG, then you can write a command that will re-wrap your video file into another file format that may be more compatible with Vegas. Certain formats like some .MOV are not supported well in Vegas. There are technical reasons for this. Re-wrapping your media is a fast and lossless conversion, as you are just taking the AV data and writing it to another file format.
