You can certainly download a 30-day trial and see if it helps before spending any money. I don’t know if it will help.
Maybe try rendering to Sony YUV. This format should be less CPU intensive because it uses less compression but it produces much larger files. You would then take the larger file and render it to 720p MPEG4. The Sony YUV template can be found under Video for Windows.

May 5, 2018 at 4:43 pmHi John! Hope all has been well these past 3 years.
I never did resolve this problem – I ended up giving up on the project way back then. However, I recently got a new laptop that’s more powerful than my old computer, and had the desire to render the project so it could go on my creative portfolio (I still have all the files saved and such).
I opened the project and tried to render it, but had the same problem as before – it debugs/crashes around 10% in while I’m trying to render mp4, 1080p. I tried turning off GPU acceleration of video processing in an attempt to make it work, but still no luck.
Below are a bunch of other details that may be able to help you tell me what the problem is/how to fix it. I’m certainly open to solutions involving rendering in other formats/ in chunks as you prescribed before, but wanted to see if you could offer a fresh perspective considering I’m on a new machine and perhaps the range of possible solutions have grown.

Hi Faraz, Unfortunately, I haven’t been using Vegas Pro for the past 3 years. Version 12 was the last version I used and then I moved the Mac and have been editing with Final Cut Pro X ever since. I have no idea why Vegas Pro is still crashing for you but an Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005) could be a corrupt file.
I would suggest you start a new thread and get some new eyes on it from people who are still using Vegas Pro in this forum.
Other that that, I would have bought a Mac instead of another Windows laptop but that’s another story. lol ????
