Sony EX3 to FCP Workflow Suggestions

Thanks all for your help. I don’t understand how I could re-capture the footage using AJA (i actually have a Black Magic HD Extreme card on the directors computer) when it’s all solid state. I would like to capture all the footage using the ProRes 422 if it was possible.

At the moment all the footage is in each days folder in seperate folders for each card.

Hi, quick question, do we need FCP V 6.0.5 to be able to use the XDCAM Ex3 Codec?

I am converting the footage to ProRes 422 HQ at present as we have had starnge problems trying to run the XDCAM footage in FCP 5.1.2

Yup … 6.0.3 I think actually, but either way, the XDCAM EX codecs are not available in 5.1.x. You need to upgrade if you want to legally access these codecs in FCP.
