So, squeeze seems to be an issue here?

“So, squeeze seems to be an issue here?”

Yes and no. I think it’s a matter of how ProRes gamma is interpreted by programs other than Apple’s own. Clearly uncompressed is fine. I did another set of tests and ProRes to H264 through Compressor and as a Media Export is fine.

    What OS are you using?

I wonder if this has anything to do with those new codecs ?

    Have you downloaded these? https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396

[Oliver Peters] “Shoot! You’re right. I typed in a duration of 2 and didn’t actually check. Now I see that you can’t make the crossfade (dissolve) shorter than 3 frames. That’s what the result is even if you typed 2.”

    Yep, that’s what I get.

2-frame dissolves are important! If you use them as much as I do, please make a feature request so I’m not the only one asking them to fix this.

For your first question, have you tried the “send to compressor” route and delete your render files before hand so it re-renders with whatever settings you choose in compressor? Not a fan of “send to compressor” as it crashes on me all the time and it’s slow but may get you uncompressed. Haven’t tested this though.

10.6.8. And yes on the codecs.

I haven’t tried that but it should work. Kind of defeats the purpose though. 😉

One “duh!” answer is to the “uncompressed” question. Set the project’s render format to “uncompressed 10-bit” and then export using “current settings”. The resulting exported file will be 10-bit uncompressed. No 8-bit option without going through Compressor.
