Premiere runs a lot faster with the GU acceleration ON. Unfortunately, your GT 330 does not work with Mercury GPU acceleration. Adobe has several cards that they officially support, but many others with at least 1GB of memory will also work with a minor “hack” and these can be a good choice if on a tight budget.
The list of Adobe-approved cards is here –

Thanks

August 20, 2012 at 9:46 pmHi Tim,
I should point out that a new display card is not in itself a solution to all performance issues – your render time seems excessive in any event. Do you have a dedicated video drive for your media? There are many factors affecting performance, the GPU being just one piece of the puzzle. You do have a Core i7 which is a good start.

August 20, 2012 at 11:01 pmThe way I tried to address the export issue is to maximize the speed and effectiveness of the Adobe Mercury Playback Engine. For me this was buying and HP Z820 system with the fastest processors,a fast GPU, 64GB of ram and fast media IO with the Dulce DQg2 raid arry. Im not sure there is anything else that can be done. Except avoid any slow plugins and 4K projects 😀
