Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction to the places to obtain the knowledge to learn more about SVP. I’ve ordered the SVP 11 training manual and I watched the video on the scopes. I didn’t realize that Sony had that tutorial page for free. Looks like I’ve got a lot of video tutorials to watch. Thanks again….Take care….Ed

I am a musician, I videotape my performances and show them on YOUTUBE and Public access TV. For years I mixed my audio on studio monitors. When I watched the Show on my large flat screen TV , I was always disappointed with the results. For the simple reason that flat screen TV are not capable of reproducing the deep bass that is in the music, it appeared the vocals were almost without music. I went out and purchased cheap computer speakers, it was an improvement but I was not there yet. I got a 32″ tv and alternate between the studio monitors, the cheap computer speakers and the TV. When I get a good sound from the television, it improved the total sound on the studio monitors as well. I use a singer’s video that I like as a reference.
Now I went crazy and got a 43″ Vizio HD TV to replace my 32″ Samsung TV. All the hell broke loose. I connected the new TV with the same high speed HDM Cable. When in Vegas properties I choose the television as the Audio Device everything works fine. When I choose the studio monitors connected to my Presonus interface the TV turns itself on and off every 30 seconds.
I connected my 32″ Samsung back, it works fine. The 32″ television is not a 4K TV and is a few years old.
Someone told me the problem may be the video card in the computer doesn’t support 4K Televisions. What the video card has to do with the audio? Can this be the problem?

[Luigi Perrotta] “Someone told me the problem may be the video card in the computer doesn’t support 4K Televisions. What the video card has to do with the audio? Can this be the problem?”

Anything is possible. It could be trying to sync and then looses sync because the graphics card is not designed to support a 4K TV. I would look up the specs on your card and see. I don’t have a 4K TV so I have never experienced this but I know newer graphics cards specifically state if they support 4K monitors so it’s logical to believe that some older cards might not.

Also make sure that your HDMI cable supports 4K. Again, I have no personal experience, but I have seen HDMI cables rated for 4K so maybe an older cable might be up to the bandwidth requirements? The HDMI cable carries with audio and video.

You might want to start a new thread so that new people who have experience with 4K will see your question.

    Thank you John,
This is puzzling because the problem only happens when I choose in Vegas to send the audio to my Presonus audio interface.

When the audio and video go together through the HDM cable to the television everything works fine. I checked with COSTCO the high speed cable supports 4K.

I will start a new thread. Thank you

You might want to look at HP Dreamcolor 4K. I have the 1080K version and I’ve been happy with it. I also use a 6 yr tablet (Amazon hdx 8.9) to check my color grading once I’ve uploaded it (2500×1600 and unmatched color accuracy).
