    Thanks Mike.

Here’s the situation now. Someone was helpful enough to capture my tapes on FCP7 as .mov files and so i took an External HDD and brought them(.mov files) to my system VISTA. Now Vegas doesnt recognize the video. Neither does my quicktime player. I searched the internet a bit and found out that quicktime doesnt recognize HDV files unless i have FCP. And no codecs will help. So now i have 2 options.

    1. Just convert the .mov files to .avi. Will that help? Will editing be easy?

    2. Do i have to go back and get it captured in something other than FCP? Something windows based?

    2. Someone was mentioning Cineform HD codecs. Can someone explain what this thing is about?

    Cheers!
